She continued to work full time to help support her mother and sister, paying her way through community college and eventually Florida International University.
After a successful but unrewarding corporate stint, Carolina found the movement in the struggle against the FTAA and has never looked back. She is a vigorous proponent of cross-border solidarity and was the founder, [at the time as a SFJWJ volunteer], of our Colombian/Miami flower workers’ campaign.
Carolina leads SFJWJ’s membership development including leadership recruitment, training and grassroots fundraising. She utilizes her ability to speak English, French and Spanish on a daily basis. Her interests lie in developing our communications strategies both internally, externally and with the media.
