The Mobile Home Council, the first in the state, with more than 120 members from 15 mobile homes parks has been active since July 2007.
We are confident that in building Vecinos Unidos we are developing a model for community and labor action.
As the SFJwJ coalition moves forward with the Marlins stadium (Public Good from Public Money campaign) Vecinos Unidos members and union members can work together in this fight for social justice.
South Florida Mobile Home Council
The South Florida Mobile Home Council has worked together for over 4 years to create stronger communities in Miami-Dade mobile home parks. Our accomplishments include a moratorium in Miami-Dade that started in 2007 and lasted until 2010, and the creation of multiple Home Owner Associations in mobile home parks which provides residents with more power to hold landlords accountable in accordance with Florida statute 723.
