Public Good from Public Money

While the Marlin’s franchise and County administrators await Judge Jeri Beth Cohen's decision regarding the future of the proposed baseball stadium, members of the Little Havana community wonder why no one seems to care what they want from the project. A recent survey of over 450 households exposes an alarming lack of effort by public administrators—or self proclaimed advocate Norman Braman--to engage the very community the project is intended to help.

We are the Ones We've Been Waiting For

The voices and perspectives of women of color are profoundly underrepresented in the work place and unions alike, especially the perspectives of those women of color who are economically marginalized. Bringing those perspectives forward requires a process of education and skills training designed to develop and support women of color leadership at all levels.

Flower workers committee has plans, join us

The Fairness in Flowers Campaign brings the South Florida Jobs with Justice coalition of union members, community leaders, activists, and women’s organizations together in support of the struggle of Colombian flower workers. This campaign aims to motivate Dole, the biggest player in the global flower industry, to move toward sustainability and respect for human rights and the environment.
