As an Eastern flight attendant, union leader, and striker Kit learned to fight for justice and workers’ rights by taking on a union busting corporate raider. Moving on after that to community and union organizing, Kit has done work as an organizer for Clean Water Action, several public and private sector unions, and the Colorado AFL-CIO.Kit’s emphasis has always been on member empowerment through leadership development-- believing that members should have the opportunity and skills to participate and contribute to their organization at all levels. Kit is a member of the Miami-Dade Election Reform Coalition. Formed after the 2000 Presidential election to work on voters’ rights, this community coalition continues to fight to make certain that all votes are counted and that all voters have access to the democratic process.
